PARK BENCHES
Swedish and international artists, designers and architects create park benches on the borderland between art and design. The isolation that has befallen contemporary art, architecture and design will be shattered when these park benches/sculptures/art installations appear in easily accessible public spaces. Some of the artists have previously shown an interest in park benches, others have not. Most of the benches are produced in the area close to Wanås. Some are made of stone quarried in the region, others are made of plastic, steel or wood. Participants include: French architect Dominique Perrault, Japanese fashion designer Junko Koshino and artists like Richard Nonas, Peter Johansson and Lone Larsen. These park benches will have a strong personal touch, but may also serve as prototypes for possible series production. There will be few restrictions.
